Millinery class: first round of hats!

The first topic we cover in millinery class is buckram as a millinery medium. The students learn about the material in stages--first by making a fascinator (small cocktail hat), then a pillbox, then a more complex brimmed form.

The rouching (SP?)on the late Victorian is very nice, I know what a pain it is. :P So hard to get everything even. Very nice indeed!

Actually, Randy pulled a theatre-cheat on that--he "ruched" that underbrim by stitching it with elastic thread! No gathering required!
