Even before my Lady Artisan's Apron was featured in Steampunk Magazine (but moreso since that came out!), i've been getting a lot of great feedback from folks making their own version of this project.

[livejournal.com profile] jadecat9 has a wonderful writeup on her own process, here. She made the apron in a heavy pinstriped denim and wore it at the Westercon convention as part of a costume. The post features lots of pictures, so check it out!

ETA: Complete dress diary here--http://www.wyldfires.com/costumes/apron.html

[livejournal.com profile] trystbat also has a dress-diary of her own costume version of the apron here, done up in a heavy burgundy twill!

I know a few other readers are making versions of this, so if you are one of them, please post pictures, or put a link in the comments if you're writing a dress-diary on it or similar! I love to see what others have done with these things!

I *still* haven't decorated it, but I put up a dress diary (http://www.trystancraft.com/costume/scifi/artisanapron/) for my apron-in-progress. It's a functional apron, at least :-) I love the skirt -- just covers everything!

Woot! After I read your post on your apron, I knew I had to make one. I had actually put together two more detailed dress diary entries that's friend's locked.

One (http://jadecat9.livejournal.com/324326.html#cutid2)

Two (http://jadecat9.livejournal.com/324722.html#cutid1)

I'll have to combine those and put them into an actual Dress Diary Page.

Thank You SOOO MUCH for being an inspiration. I love your tips, ideas, and seeing how you work, as well as the finished products.

I managed to piece this together. I had been planning on doing it. Drafts & photos already taken, so I figured I would finish it up.

This is (heh) nearly a year after your original post about the beta version, but I'm at last getting round to making one of these aprons. :) The skirt on mine (at least this first one) is going to be shorter, about 18" long, but still the five gore style. I'm doing this one up to wear during sewing/quilting when there's lots of thread & lint, so that it can wear all the lint & fuzz instead of my clothes! I'm putting scissors loop & leash clip, ipod pocket, watch pocket, pen loop & other nifty bits on it, and [livejournal.com profile] trystbat made some nifty patches on her printer & sent them out to me. Fabric for the apron is a black on black stripe with a bit of stretch in it, and a few of the pockets and the centre front bodice piece are a silly black denim with raised letters on that spell out words like babe, angel, sexy, etc. I've cut carefully to feature the words 'Angel', 'Kiss', and 'Lady' as much as possible.

Thanks SO MUCH for posting these instructions and giving us access. :>
