Honestly, that is probably me using the wrong term. Because i don't teach this class or costume history, or even drape garments in general, i'm not as familiar with the appropriate terms for the parts of historical clothes. It very probably could be a stomacher. (I'd ask someone here, but the semester's over and there's nobody right here to ask! Maybe someone will chime in, or i can ask after the summer break.)
