As Cabaret rolls toward opening, we barely have time to sleep, but i've got a quick couple photos to share of Candy McClernan's amusing coin codpiece for the Emcee!

Costume design rendering by Jen Caprio
(Note the giant coin codpiece.)

Candy used layers of Wonderflex to create the border and the large 50, then created the raised letters of the "Deutsches Reich Pfennig 1922" with puff paint. See the line of black stitching? That's attaching a backing layer of fabric so that we could sew closures to the piece for attachment/removal. Wardrobe will have to take it off every night for laundering.

Here's the finished piece. It's been painted and sealed, then "tarnished" with French Enamel Varnish. The codpiece attaches to the pants with two size 6 hooks/eyes and two whopper-popper snaps.
