Judy Adamson's period pattern class is barreling on ahead to Early Renaissance projects, which students presented just moments ago.

Here are my quick snaps of the half-drapes on display outside our shop.

Detail shot of the dudes. This is one of those time periods when the menswear
can be way more stylistically complicated than the women's.

Candy used some of the real ermine tails we have in stock to trim out her project!

On the mens in red, the pleats/pipes seem to be staggered. Are the braced with a band behind?

They are. Those two students tried two different methods for doing those.

On the red one, she used a foundation retainer of twill tape running along between the fabric and the body, with the pleats tacked to it for that staggered, looser look.

On the garment on the right, she draped an entire foundation that lies closely fitted to the body, and the organ pleats are fully stitched down in the channels and are stuffed with batting to make them so regular and poofy.

Oh, so lovely. Love the work on the men's garments. They get to be such peacocks.
