1885 Bustle costumes in period pattern
Oct. 28th, 2011 01:22 pmThe students in Judy Adamson's period pattern class presented bustle dresses today, and coincidentally all their project source images were from 1885! Here are some images.

Left: walking dress by Adrienne Corral
Center: women's tennis dress by Claire Fleming
Right: daytime ensemble by Kaitlin Fara

Look at these cute buttons Claire made with the lace over the ground fabric!
Interestingly enough, someone's put up a design on Spoonflower of the fabric used in the original source garment for Claire's project, too! I don't know the designer--wonder if she is making a reproduction as well!

Date: 2011-10-28 08:26 pm (UTC)I'm doing a repro of the LACMA tennis dress for a costume contest. It will be a group effort. I'm mostly interested in the corset... This should be fun!
The dresses in your post are lovely! very talented students. I hope my version turns out half as well as Claire's! I'll share the finished dress when I have it!
