Period Pattern Half-forms!
Jan. 30th, 2009 11:54 amFirst off, i'd like to apologize for the lack of content this past month.
If you've ever worked in repertory production, you know that "two shows at one time" can really occupy all your attention, and that's part of the reason for the dearth of posts. The rep shows both open Saturday, so soon i'll be able to share stage shots of some of the projects i did mention (the leg brace, the crochet 1970s vest, the painted coat).
Part of it, too, is that my course this time is Dyeing, Surface Design, and Costume Distressing, and we're in the introductory nuts-n-bolts part where we cover a lot of really valuable info like OSHA regulations in dye facilities and the chemistry of different types of dyestuff, but that doesn't make for many cool projects to share. They'll be hitting their stride next month though, when the surface design section starts.
So, in the meantime, i do have the Period Pattern class first round of half-form projects. This semester is 20th Century Pattern, and these are from the teens!
