History: More on Zaida Ben-Yusuf

mumic pointed out an article in the Spring 2007 version of Inside Smithsonian Research on Zaida Ben-Yusuf. Shortly after my last post on the Ben-Yusuf milliners, i spoke to Frank Goodyear, Jr, the portrait historian who is the subject of the article; he confirmed that Anna was Zaida's mother, and that both were published authors of articles on millinery in contemporary journals of the time. Mr. Goodyear mentioned his forthcoming retrospective exhibit the Smithsonian will be mounting in February, 2008, and an accompanying book on the life of Zaida Ben-Yusuf. Not much hat-related, not in the article at least, but i'm looking forward to the book and exhibit nonetheless!
