Links: Millinery!
May. 14th, 2007 06:45 pmWe're in full-swing at the festival now, and i'll be able to start posting some of the projects we're working on in the next week or so, but i thought i'd share some interesting links on the topic of millinery.
Hat Works is a museum of millinery history in Manchester, England. Some day, i'm definitely going to check it out! Lots of cool stuff just on the site alone, so i'm sure the museum itself is amazing.
Ullabenulla's Millinery Inspiration section is filled with inspiring imagery, and i was amused to find one image that one of my students recreated as a final project!
Millinery.info has a wealth of resources, including an excellent interview with "Milliner of the Month"! Changes, well, monthly, so that'll be fun to watch.
Simple Instructions in Home Millinery is exactly that--a reprint online of a source from the 1920s/30s on home hatmaking.
Now, tonight i'm teaching a seminar on introductory buckram millinery for interested festival employees, so i better run--this means, however, that hopefully those participating will allow me to photograph and post their finished hats!
