The red velvet fez in the prior post of project pix was mulled in baby flannel. One of the things i talk to my students about is why you might make a mulling choice one way or another, and flannel is a great option for a lot of reasons, particularly in the case of a fabric with a pile that already has its own thickness to negotiate.

The awesome thing about ice wool is that it's got loft such that it's almost like batting, but the super-loosely-interlooped knit foundation of it allows you to control its distribution over complex curves and wacky shapes.
