I'm curious about the stitching of the wire to the cardboard base. I would have thought that piercing the cardboard (even with reinforcing with the bias tape and wire) would have actually somewhat weakened the edge. Does the subsequent papier mache help prevent that or is it a non-issue to begin with?

Love the rather arch expressions that the masks have--especially those with eyebrows of differing heights.
